Mt York Gold Project

Kairos’s flagship, 100%-owned 1.4Moz Mt York Gold Project is 100km south of Port Hedland in WA’s Pilbara. The project is supported by excellent infrastructure.

Gold mineralisation occurs in a single banded iron formation (BIF) over a 3,000m strike length, contained in the ‘Main Trend’ comprising (from west to east) Main Hill, Breccia Hill and Gossan Hill Prospects. The mineralisation optimises in a single open pit and continues to the northwest on Pilbara Minerals’ EL45/2241 for at least another 1,500m. Kairos negotiated the gold and base metal mineral rights (excluding lithium and tantalum) to the Main Hill Extension Prospect in late 2024 as well as 367km2 of additional PLS exploration licences and applications surrounding Mt York.

Mt York is the Pilbara’s largest undeveloped, free-milling gold deposit with exploration and resource upside and Kairos has committed 30,000m+ of diamond drilling into the deposit and extensions to try to ascertain how big the resource can potentially grow to.

Mt York mineralisation attributes are:

  • 1.4 Moz Au in current resource estimate (43 Mt @ 1.0 g/t Au for 1,385,000 oz)
  • Resource contains multiple high-grade plunging shoots with 0.75 Moz at 1.6 g/t Au
  • Mineralisation is 3,000m long and contained in a single open pit
  • Mineralisation is free-milling meaning the gold can be recovered through a simple, well-known process (no metallurgical problems with the mineralisation)
  • Current large drilling programme targeting resource expansion
  • Mt York extends for another 1,500m to the NW where Kairos has secured gold rights ahead of drilling

A 30,000m+ drilling program is underway, which is Kairos’s largest to date at Mt York, targeting growth of the 1.4Moz gold resource, as well as upgrading resource confidence. An updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for Mt York is expected later in 2025. It will also be the basis of a fully-funded pre-feasibility study (PFS) for Mt York, building on the 2024 Scoping Study.

Regional prospects at Mt York include:

  • Main Hill Extension: 1,500m strike extension of Mt York’s Main Hill mineralisation. Pilbara Minerals (ASX:PLS) shallow RC drilling returned results including:
    • 12m @ 1.37 g/t from 80m (MYRC005)
    • 16m @ 2.43 g/t Au from 16m (MYRC007)
    • 4m @ 3.32 g/t Au from 4m (MYRC008)
    • 8m @ 2.41 g/t Au from 44m (MYRC011)
    • 15m @ 1.18 g/t Au from 13m (WSRC02).
  • Main Hill Prospect: The mineralised BIF is >100m wide and often mineralised throughout. The prospect has not been drilled out historically due to topographic challenges. Kairos is using a specialised drill rig to gain access to the entire resource area.
  • Gilt Dragon: A gold prospect 3km southeast of Main Trend with historic early-stage drill results, including 10m @ 2.04g/t Au from 4m, and a large gold footprint identified in surface sampling.
  • Zakanaka: A historic open pit mining centre 2km north of Main Trend with mineralisation remaining open along strike and at depth.
